A. CHILDRENS’ HOSPITAL
On December 12, 2000 the University of Calgary West Campus was selected as the sole recommended site for the new hospital. Preliminary indications are that the hospital would be immediately west of the community, and would require a multi-million dollar interchange to be constructed over 16th avenue, linking the West Campus with the Foothills Hospital site.

B. CAMPUS PLAN / TRAFFIC
The U of C is nearing completion of its campus plan. Part of this plan details the proposed development of the University West Campus (reserve land), including the recommended Children’s Hospital. This development will directly impact all residents of our community.
Currently, a minimum of 1,325 vehicles use Ulrich Road on a daily basis (up to 135 vehicles per hour at peak times). Our community has only 431 single family dwellings. A significant amount of traffic cuts through the community from 16th Avenue to 24th Avenue. Traffic and noise from 16th avenue grows daily. Traffic problems likely will increase with further development. Please consider the effects of traffic on the whole community as well as your individual concerns.
